Katie Arrington, vice president of sales operations at Dispersive Technologies, was elected to the Charleston (South Carolina) Defense Contractors Association (CDCA) Board of Directors, Dispersive said on Wednesday.

Arrington had been a CDCA board member from 2011 to 2014. During that time, she was chairwoman of the philanthropic and communicator committees, as well as co-chair of the C5ISR Summit sponsor committee.

"Katie possesses the rare skill sets necessary to understand all aspects of the defense-contractor industry," Robert Twitchell Jr., founder and CEO of Dispersive Technologies, said. "For years, she has worked to cultivate and enhance the relationship between that industry and various governments, and nobody I know works harder to advocate, protect and preserve the Charleston community. We at Dispersive are very proud of her."

There are approximately 250 defense contractors that account for approximately 10 percent of the Charleston metro economy. The CDCA advocates for contractors and acts as a liaison with local governments, helping businesses develop business ties.
