LONGBOW LLC, a Lockheed Martin and Northrup Grumman joint venture, recently won a $57.1 million foreign military-sale contract from the U.S. Army to supply LONGBOW Fire Control Radar (FCR) systems for the India air force's new Apache AH-64E helicopters.

“With LONGBOW FCR, the Indian Air Force will receive a rapid all-weather targeting capability," Jim Messina, LONGBOW LLC's president and director of LONGBOW programs at Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control, said. “The FCR’s air over-watch mode provides air crews with 360-degree situational awareness, improving survivability and mission success.”

The contract's value could rise to $116.7 million. LONGBOW will provide 12 FCR systems and spares, the production of which will take place at Lockheed's Orlando and Ocala, Florida, facilities, and at Northrup's Baltimore facility.

“Our highly reliable LONGBOW FCR has been repeatedly proven in combat, protecting war fighters around the globe at an affordable cost,” Ike Song, vice president for mission solutions at Northrop Grumman’s Land & Avionics C4ISR Division, said.

LONGBOW expects production of the FCR systems for this contract to run through early 2019.
