Kratos to develop maintenance-training systems for tanker aircraft

The Boeing Company recently selected Kratos Defense & Security Solutions Inc. to develop high-fidelity maintenance training systems for the KC-46 Pegasus tanker, the U.S. Air Force’s newest air refueling tanker aircraft.  


“Kratos is a leading provider of maintenance training systems for air, land and sea defense platforms, specializing in developing comprehensive training-solutions sets that maximize training proficiency,” Kratos Training Solutions Senior Vice President Jose Diaz said. “Kratos has a long and proven track record of providing virtual and high-fidelity simulators to the U.S. military and allied nations.”

Kratos is a mid-tier government contractor that develops technology, intellectual property, and proprietary products and solutions for the U.S. and its allies. This most recent contract with Boeing, valued in excess of $20 million, will see the company develop and deliver high-fidelity virtual simulation, Interactive Multimedia Instruction (IMI) and full-scale simulators. Kratos will deliver two suites of training devices and will allow for training on repairing and maintaining the aircraft sub-systems.The U.S. Air Force will use these training solutions in conjunction with each other, creating a coordinated and realistic training experience.
