Chamber announces business leaders to co-chair C_TEC working groups

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce recently announced the co-chairs for three working groups under its Chamber Technology Engagement Center (C_TEC), who will help educate stakeholders from policymakers and the media to the general public about emerging technologies.

Melissa Tye of Verizon and Amy Oberhelman of Target, will lead the Internet of Things Working Group, and Dave Bowen of Measure and Ryan Terry of Lockheed Martin will lead the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Working Group. The Autonomous Vehicle Working Group will have three co-chairs: Marjorie Dickman of Intel, Avery Ash of Inrix and Jon Van Arsdell of Allstate.

“We need diverse perspectives to best understand and address emerging technologies,” C_TEC Senior Vice President Tim Day said in a press release. “I am pleased to have Melissa, Amy, Dave, Ryan, Marjorie, Avery and Jon join our team, and am grateful of their commitment to C_TEC. They bring a broad cross-section of business experience – from insurance to pure-play technologies – that will help promote the role of technology in growing our economy.”

The working groups will liaise with governmental, business and public groups to communicate the benefits of these developing technologies. C_TEC working groups have in the past with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration to promote AV guidance and with the National Institute of Standards and Technology and the House Energy & Commerce Committee on connected devices.
