Americans for Prosperity praises White House intent to upgrade air traffic control

Responding to the Trump administration’s intent to update the Federal Aviation Administration’s air traffic control program via publishing new guidelines, the Arlington, Virginia-based Americans for Prosperity (AFP) commended the federal government’s direction.

“We are encouraged to see this administration, once again, taking major steps to improve federal agencies,” Christine Harbin, AFP's vice president of external affairs, said in a release. “(The) announcement shows the president’s consistent commitment to seek ways to modernize and streamline federal programs in a way that respects American taxpayers and makes government work better.”

As recently as last month, AFP spearheaded an alliance of over 50 groups calling for Congress and the White House to focus on infrastructure spending responsibly.

Harbin said AFP is committed to working with stakeholders on Capitol Hill to afford taxpayer protection while addressing the nation’s infrastructure needs, including both modernization and privatization on the ground and in the air.

“Working together, we can prevent past mistakes … and find opportunities to roll back the red tape that delays projects and drives up costs,” Harbin said in the release.
