Micron Technology Virginia receives V3 certification

Micron Technology Virginia recently received Virginia Values Veterans (V3) program certification from Virginia’s Department of Veterans Services for dedication to military veteran employment opportunities.

“This certification is indicative of our continued investment in offering exiting military personnel the best opportunities available to take on a new career path,” April Arnzen, Micron’s senior vice president for human resources, said in a press release.

V3 is designed to let companies and institutions integrate best practices in recruiting talent, hiring personnel and retaining veteran workers, the release said. Micron had participated in training and developed an official hiring plan with details on how it will attract and retain local veterans for its work force.

Over 10 percent of Micron's full-time employees are veterans. The company established two internal resource groups offering support for transition to civilian life, and it participates in nationwide veteran-oriented hiring programs.

“While we are committed to employing veterans at every level of our organization, we are particularly proud of the fact that many of our veteran team members are in leadership roles,” Arnzen said. “This is a true indicator that leadership qualities and skills honed during service are well matched to success in the private sector.”

Micron, based in Manassas, Virginia, markets worldwide technology brands.
