Comtech awarded $4.2 million adjustment to Army's Blue Force Tracking contract

Comtech Telecommunications Corp., which provides mission-critical systems for commercial and government groups, was recently awarded $4.2 million in adjustments to a previous contract for the U.S. Army's Project Manager Mission Command Blue Force Tracking (BFT-1) program.

The modifications fall under a five-year agreement regarding the BFT-1 program involving engineering, satellite functions and management, a Comtech release said.

BFT-1 is a GPS-based platform allowing military personnel to access location information for both friendly and hostile troops. The name derives partly from the NATO tradition of blue symbolizing friendly forces.

"We are pleased that our Army customer recognizes the value of Comtech's services," Comtech President and CEO Fred Kornberg said in the release. "Comtech is committed to providing the Army and its soldiers with the highest level of support to enable them to complete their missions."te your text here.
