Retired brigadier general to head Military Services Group for American Water

Retired Brig. Gen. David Turner has been named president of Military Services Group (MSG) for American Water, according to a company press release.

“We are excited to have General Turner lead our MSG team, and apply his deep military experience to help us become an even more effective partner with the U.S. armed forces,” Deborah A. Degillio, president of American Water Enterprises, said in the release.

In his new role, Turner will lead the group that works with the military to treat and supply water to military installations around the country as part of the federal Utility Privatization Program. MSG handles water or wastewater management for 13 military installations.

“We are humbled to have someone who has given so much to his country become part of the American Water team,” Susan Story, president and CEO of American Water said in the release. “General Turner’s leadership and extensive expertise will add great value to the leadership team at American Water.”

Turner has more than 20 years of military service and most recently commanded the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, South Atlantic Division. He has earned numerous awards, medals and honors during his service.
