The website executivebiz.com reported Friday that HRL Laboratories, Northrop Grumman and United Technologies Research Center will share nearly $5 million from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to research and develop a secure authentication tool for mobile devices.

FedScoop said the DHS Science and Technology directorate's cybersecurity division has tasked the companies to each work on a type of system: a behavior anomaly detector, a context-aware authenticator and a user behavior tracker based on machine learning capabilities.
