DARPA's 'Wait, What?' tech forum kicks off in St. Louis

DARPA – the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency – is hosting a forum on new groundbreaking technologies called “Wait, What? A Future Technology Forum.”

The forum will bring more than 1,200 engineers, scientists and innovators to St. Louis to survey emerging technologies and how those technologies are likely to change the way we live in the coming years.

Delegates from companies both large and small, universities, government and private research labs are coming together to share and generate new ideas that push the boundaries of today’s technological capabilities.

“By exchanging insights from multiple fields and exploring those fields’ dynamic intersections, participants in ‘Wait, What?’ can point DARPA to some of the most promising areas of change and possibility,” DARPA Director Arati Prabhakar said. “And by describing DARPA’s unique mission and demonstrating how we do our work, we hope these scientists and engineers will think more about the world of national security and imagine ways to bring their big ideas to this vital field.”

Followers can participate in the Forum from afar by downloading DARPA’s ‘Wait, What?’ app to their mobile device. The app gives background on presenters and agenda topics while allowing people everywhere to participate in interactive discussions with participants.
