The Defense Intelligence Agency has awarded the national security engineering solutions company Leidos a prime contract to provide enhanced solutions for information technology (IT) requirements; the agreement covers multiple contract awards with indefinite delivery and quantity specifications, with the contracts having a one-year base period of performance with four more one-year options.
The total contract value comes in over $6 billion for all awardees, if all options are exercised.
The Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) is tasked with providing military intelligence to soldiers, defense policymakers and force planners at the Department of Defense and to the broader the Intelligence Community. That comes in support of U.S. military planning, operations and weapon systems acquisition.
Under the contract, Leidos will provide worldwide coverage for IT requirements and technical services supporting the government. That will include IT system design, development, fielding and sustainment of global intelligence and command and control assets which are vital to the U.S. security.
Leidos will focus on improving integration, information sharing, efficiency and information safeguarding through a common IT approach.
Leidos Group President Sam Gordy said the new contract will build on previous successful services previously provided by the company.
"We look forward to maintaining our current worldwide coverage of IT requirements and technical support services for the government by continuing to provide innovative, adaptive and secure services and capabilities in support of the DIA and the intelligence community," Gordy said.
