Optex Systems, Inc. recently signed a $2.6 million contract for periscopes with an unnamed international defense contractor.
A manufacturer of optical sighting systems and assemblies for domestic and foreign militaries, Optex will deliver the products on a continuous basis over the next five years, which is in keeping with its normal operating procedures.
"We are pleased with this multi-year award and we look forward to the ongoing supply of this critical optical assembly," Danny Schoening, CEO of Optex, said. "Optex continues to look for international sales and strengthening our relationships with international defense contractors."
Optex is based in Richardson, Texas. Its products are installed on various types of U.S. military land vehicles, including the Abrams and Bradley fighting vehicles, light armored and armored security vehicles. They also have been selected for installation on the Stryker family of vehicles.
