The U.S. Department of Energy  (DOE) late last week released its annual "Revolution...Now" report, showing major advancements in several clean-energy initiatives that aim to combat climate change.

The report, recently announced by Energy Secretary Ernest Moniz, brings together data that shows a market boom in clean-energy solutions. Wind turbines, electric vehicles, LED lights and solar energy are all seeing huge growth rates as the technologies become more available and cheaper.

“We are experiencing a clean-energy revolution in the United States, and this report confirms it,” Moniz said. “Today, clean-energy technologies are providing real-world solutions – not only to reduce carbon dioxide emissions that cause global warming, but they also drive a domestic, low-carbon economy with technologies that are increasingly cost-competitive with conventional technologies.”

Moniz said that gives the U.S. the necessary tools to create a cleaner and more secure energy infrastructure to serve future needs.

The report comes as President Obama prepares for the COP21 UN Climate Negotiations in Paris, giving the Obama administration a rallying point ahead of negotiations. Reports showing growth in wind farms, electric-car demand and adoption of solar solutions give the U.S. greater standing as a voice to be heard during climate talks.
