The Angolan Ministry of Petroleum recently granted an Independent Power Producer license to Dominovas Energy Corporation, the Nevada-based company said.

"This license positions us at the epicenter of the Angolan economy as a provider of electricity to the country's most vital and profitable industry,” Neal Allen, Dominovas' CEO and chairman, said.

The license authorizes Dominovas to provide electricity to the nation's gas and oil industry, as well as the parastatal Sonangol Group.

The license also helps Dominovas market its RUBICON fuel cell with the addition of new clients.

"Dominovas Energy's RUBICON system is the only fuel cell-based technology solution to be granted an Independent Power Producer license in the country,” Emilio DeJesus, president of Dominovas' Africa Division, said. “This demonstrates the Angolan leadership's commitment to new technologies, allowing for positive stewardship toward minerals and resources."

Angola is the second-biggest oil producer on the African continent. It is also a leader in advanced drilling technologies. The nation's oil-producing platforms use 1,200 megawatts a day, and its drilling platforms use 1,220 megawatts daily.
