The U.S. Marine Corps has awarded a $47 million contract to Alion Science and Technology in an effort to modernize its weapons-logistics systems.
Headquarters Marine Corps Installations and Logistics (HQMC I&L) placed the order, for Life Cycle Support Modernization Services, in which the company will help the unit
modernize its logistics processes by combining proven technology
with best practices and standards, allowing Marine personnel to understand each
weapon system and recognize any flaws or problems that must be remedied prior to entering the field.
“By enhancing situational awareness data for decision making and increasing the effectiveness and efficiency of the logistics chain, Alion will help the Marine Corps efficiently manage their vast equipment portfolio and enhance overall readiness,” David Russell, Alion's senior vice president and manager of the Rapid Solution Group, said.
“Alion has provided HQMC I&L with product-support modernization services for six years and is excited to continue this very important work.”
