Coalition forces executed several strikes against ISIL fighters operating in Syria and Iraq in the past 10 days.
The strikes come as part of the joint-airstrike campaign waged against the violent extremists as part of Operation Inherent Resolve. The coalition includes the U.S., Australia, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, France, Jordan, the Netherlands, the U.K., Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the UAE and Turkey.
Seven coalition drone and aircraft strikes were made on Islamic State targets in Syria, taking out seven ISIL tactical units, two vehicles, a number of ISIL-controled buildings and three operations-staging areas.
The fight in Iraq racked up 15 airstrikes from piloted jets and drones, striking seven ISIL tactical units and destroying multiple armed vehicles, three fighting positions, a bunker, a checkpoint and two command centers.
Operation Inherent Resolve is part of an international effort to restrict the spread of ISIL fighters in Syria and Iraq. Hitting tactical units and infrastructure is intended to limit the extremist group’s military capabilities and its ability to conduct terrorist attacks around the globe.
