South Texas-based Marathon Oil awarded Phase II implementation of its Eagle Ford Digital Oil Field (DOF) Program this week to Technical Toolboxes Inc. (TTI) subsidiary Energy Industry Consultants and Engineers (EICE) International.
Under the contract, EICE, an industry-leading oil-field consultancy specializing in digitization services, will modernize numerous Marathon Oil operations, a move expected to lower operating costs and improve Marathon's bottom line, with the aid of digital programs.
"Digital technologies tend to be cheaper solutions, reap quicker benefits and tend to be easier to scale across a company," Jud Jacobs, director of upstream oil and gas research at industrial research firm IHS, said. "That's why companies have continued appending money on those technologies, even after they make dramatic cutbacks elsewhere.”
EICE will supply Marathon with new alarm-management software, systems to optimize well performance and downtime, new digital-oilfield strategies and data-crunching technology to give Marathon leaders the best information for making decisions.
"The Marathon DOF Phase II contract award is a result of ongoing successful Digital Oil Field projects by our subject matter experts,” TTI President Joe Summa said. ”TTI is committed to establishing an Open Systems Architecture for the industry that leverages existing capital investments with Best-in-Class practices and new innovations -- all focused on reducing costs and optimizing production."
