U.S. Rep. Charles Boustany (R-LA) voiced his support this week for the American Heroes COLA Act, introduced by Rep. Ralph Abraham (R-LA), which would mandate that whenever Social Security benefits are increased, Veterans Affairs must boost veterans’ disability compensation and other benefits by the same percentage.

"Our veterans have earned high-quality care and benefits through their service to our country," Boustany said. "While a dollar buys less every day, the benefits for our disabled veterans have stayed the same. That’s just not right. I thank Dr. Abraham for authoring this important legislation, and I look forward to working with him to improve care for our veterans across the United States.”
