Several new contracts for armed-forces services awarded

Several contracts for armed-forces services recently were awarded.

In Hunt Valley, Maryland, AAI Corp. (working as Textron Systems), was awarded a $97,109,000 modified contract to deliver an unmanned aircraft system called Shadow, with a completion date set for Oct. 31, 2018. All work will be conducted in Hunt Valley. The contracting entity is the Army Contracting Command at the Redstone Arsenal in Alabama.

Raytheon Integrated Defense Systems in Andover, Massachusetts, was awarded a $92,918,000 contract to provide upgrades to four radar systems referred to as PATRIOT radars. All services will take place in Andover, with a completion date of Nov. 30, 2018. The Army Contracting Command at Picatinny Arsenal in New Jersey is the contracting entity.

Lockheed Martin Missions Systems and Training of Baltimore, Maryland, was awarded a $52,453,589, three-year contract for supply-chain management of aviation tires for 14 different types of aircraft. The company will oversee management, storage, supply and transportation of the tires. The contract is a result of the Foreign Military Sales program, involving the U.S. Navy, Australia, Bahrain, Brazil, Egypt, France, Greece, Italy, Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Turkey, Japan and the U.K. The contract allows for two separate option periods, and the possibility of obtaining approximately $141,067,492 if there is an increased need for F-35 tires. The work will be done in Baltimore and finished by January 2019. The contracting entity is the Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Raytheon Technical Services Co. LLC in Norfolk, Virginia was awarded a $9,174,340 contract for engineering, from service to upgrades, on the NATO Seasparrow Surface Missile System (NSSMS). Most of the work will be done in Yorktown, Virginia, and some in Norfolk, with a completion date of February 2017. The Port Hueneme Division of the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Port Hueneme, California, is the contracting entity.

X Corp Solutions of Stafford, Virginia, was awarded a $50 million ceiling in a five-year contract for security and counterintelligence operations support services. The contract provides non-personal programs with counterintelligence for DTRA/SCC-WMD/JFHQ-E services worldwide, with a completion date of Feb. 28, 2021. Work will be conducted at sites in Albuquerque, New Mexico; Travis Air Force Base in California; Eglin Air Force Base in Florida; Kleber Kaserne in Kaiserslautern, Germany; and the Defense Threat Reduction Center in Fort Belvoir, Virginia. The contracting entity is DTRA of Fort Belvoir.

Leidos Inc. of Reston, Virginia was awarded a $17,873,386 contract for research and development of a portable system for real-time standoff detection and identification of trace-chemical residues on surfaces using infrared spectroscopy in a 30-meter range. Most of the work will be done in Reston, with a completion date of Oct. 3, 2020. The Air Force Research Laboratory at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio is the contracting entity.

Northrop Grumman Systems Corp. of Rolling Meadows, Illinois, was awarded a $11,734,223 contract for a Large Aircraft Infrared Countermeasures on India head-of-state aircraft. The contract consists solely of foreign military sales to India, with a completion date of Jan. 31, 2020. Work will be conducted entirely in India. The contracting entity was the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio.
