New and modified contracts awarded for armed-forces services

Several new contracts were awarded recently to provide services for the armed forces.

Pepco Energy Services of Arlington, Virginia, was awarded a $80,429,313 contract, as part of a previous contract, to provide energy renovations at the Naval Station Great Lakes, such as the design and construction of lights, water and sewage; a solar-hybrid array for the landfill; and solar-hybrid technology for the roofs, with a completion date set for August 2034. All work will be completed in North Chicago, Illinois. The contracting entity is the Naval Facilities Engineering and Expeditionary Warfare Center in Port Hueneme, California.

Vigor Marine LLC of Portland, Oregon, was awarded a $13,993,129 contract for use of a shipyard for regular overhaul services and dry-docking for the USNS Amelia Earhart over a 45-day period. Services will include cleaning and refilling gas tanks and related parts, renewing the flight deck, salt water tank renovations, work on the main engine, maintenance on the main diesel generator, lifeboat recertification, work on various ventilation systems, inspections on the propeller and stern tube, polishing, a valve replacement and hull upkeep. The award can range up to $14,290,848 if need be. Work will be conducted in Portland, with a completion date of May 15, 2016. The Navy's Military Sealift Command of Norfolk, Virginia, is the contracting entity.

Buffalo Supply of Lafayette, Colorado, was awarded a $10,256,568-maximum award for surgical tools for particular locations that use the electronic catalog. The contract will last 16 months, with one-year option periods available three separate times and an eight-month option period available once. Services will be utilized in Colorado, with a Feb. 4, 2021, completion date, and will be open for use by the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps and federal civilian businesses. The contracting entity is the Defense Logistics Agency Troop Support of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

ITC Defense Corp. of Arlington, Virginia, was awarded a $7,678,096 foreign military sales contract with Kuwait to supply equipment and services for vehicle management. The work will be conduced in Arlington, with a completion date of Feb. 28, 2018. The contracting entity is the Army Contracting Command of Aberdeen, Maryland.

Several companies received additional funds for previously awarded contracts as part of the Federal Acquisition Regulation of the Commander Operational Test and Evaluation Force, a six-month initiative to test the Navy systems both technically and analytically.

$7,046,969 was awarded to Gryphon Technologies in Washington, D.C., bringing its award total to $73,794,734.

CGI Federal in Fairfax, Virginia, was awarded $7,677,470, totaling an award valued at $48,772,431.

$7,677,471 was awarded to Alion Science and Technology Corp. in Burr Ridge, Illinois, bringing its award total to $52,894,807.

$8,003,134 was awarded to Wyle Lab in Huntsville, Alabama, bringing its award total to $55,121,610.

Booz Allen Hamilton in McLean Virginia, was awarded $8,662,515, for an award total of $59,701,675.

Work on these modified contracts will be conducted in the Bahamas, Australia, England, Honduras, Singapore, Italy, Guam, Hawaii, Nova Scotia, British Columbia, Columbia, Belize, Guatemala, Souda Bay Crete, Greece and Mexico. No funds expire at the end of the fiscal year, and the Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk of the Contracting Department in Norfolk is the contracting entity.
