The Defense Department recently said several contracts for services have been awarded throughout the armed forces.
Olin Corp.'s Winchester Ammunition Division in East Alton, Illinois, was awarded a $99.2 million Army contract for three types of ammunition: .38 and .45 caliber, and 9mm. The estimated date of completion is March 9, 2022. The location of the work will be determined later, and the contracting entity is the Army Contracting Command of the Rock Island Arsenal in Illinois.
General Dynamics Land Systems in Sterling Heights, Michigan, was awarded a $15,944,272 Army contract for military foreign sales with Egypt, with the possibility of Egyptian M1A1 construction. All work will take place in Sterling Heights through May 9, 2019. The Army Contracting Command of Warren, Michigan, is the contracting entity.
Lockheed Martin's Lockheed Martin Space Systems Co. in Littleton, Colorado, has been awarded a $96,040,000 Air Force contract change to a previous award. Services include GPS III renovations to the current GPS system to control GPS III satellites launched before the new operating system, the Next Generation Operational Control System, is functioning. The Lockheed unit also will supply modules, simulators and updates for the GPS III. Work is to be completed in Littleton and in Gaithersburg, Maryland. The completion date is Dec. 31, 2019, and the contracting entity is the Space and Missile Systems Center of the Los Angeles Air Force Base in California.
Pelatron Inc. of Honolulu, Hawaii, was awarded a modification to a previous Air Force contract amounting to $11,531,100. The modification adds Control and Reporting Center Operations Module Modification (CRC OM MOD) production services . This contract ensures more CRC OM MOD production. The completion date is Nov. 4, 2016. All work will take place in Clearfield, Utah. The Air Force Life Cycle Management Center of the Hanscom Air Force Base in Massachusetts is the contracting entity.
A $46,672,970 Navy contract was awarded to General Dynamics Information Technology in Fairfax, Virginia, for security, sales and project management services for the Naval International Programs Office, Naval Supply Systems Command (NAVSUP) Weapon Systems Command (WSS) and applicable customers of NAVSUP WSS International Programs Directorate. Services will be conducted in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania; Washington, D.C.; Pensacola, Florida; and Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Ohio, with the completion date set for March 2020. The Naval Supply Systems Command Fleet Logistics Center in Norfolk and the Contracting Department of the Philadelphia Office are the contracting entities.
Progeny Systems Corp. of Manassas, Virginia, was awarded a $45,450,000 Navy contract to provide follow-on support, sustainment and upgrades of personnel systems for the Tasking, Records, and Consolidated Knowledge Enterprise Repository (DON TRACKER) program. DON TRACKER will make many records and applications of the Navy and Marine Corps accessible in one database. The completion date is set for February 2021, and the work will take place in Manassas. The contracting entity is the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Command in San Diego, California.
Huntington Ingalls Inc. in Newport News, Virginia, was awarded an $18,151,166 modification to a previous Navy contract. Services include continued advance planning of the refueling complex overhaul of the USS George Washington's refueling complex. The contract change adds long lead-time material and extends the advance-planning period. The work will be conducted in Newport News, with a completion date set for April 2016. The Naval Sea Systems Command, Washington, D.C., is the contracting entity.
Raytheon of McKinney, Texas, has been awarded a $11,001,832 modification on a previous contract for a radar kit and for the P-9A Poseidon aircraft. All work will be performed in McKinney and Seattle, Washington, with a June 2018 completion date. Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent, Maryland, is the contracting entity.
Benaka Inc. of New Brunswick, New Jersey, was awarded a $9,445,000 modification to a previous Navy contract to continue work on the installation of new energy-efficient roofs on buildings 4, 12, 26 and 592 at Naval Support Activity Philadelphia. All work will take place in Philadelphia. The completion date is set for October 2016, and the contracting entity is the Naval Facilities Engineering Command of the Mid-Atlantic region in Norfolk, Virginia.
Raytheon of McKinney, Texas, was awarded a $7,360,072 modification to a previous contract for repairs on the V-22/H-53 Forward Looking InfraRed System. The work will be done in Jacksonville, Florida, and finished by Feb. 10, 2018. The Naval Supply Systems Command Weapon Systems Support in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is the contracting entity.
The Defense Logistics Agency has awarded Navy contracts to Lyon Shipyard Inc. and Colonna's Shipyard (Steel America), both in Norfolk, Virginia, with each contract totaling $8,483,490, to supply landing-craft utility-boat parts. All work will take place in Virginia and is to be completed by Feb. 3, 2021. The contracting entity is the Defense Logistics Agency Land and Maritime in Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
