The House Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations plans to hold a hearing on Wednesday, “DOE for the 21st Century: Science, Environment and National Security Missions," to examine the state of the Department of Energy's national labs, including management and accountability.

The subcommittee also will look at whether the labs are contributing to the country's needs and fulfilling their stated missions. Lawmakers will hear testimony from two advisory panels, the Congressional Advisory Panel on the Governance of the Nuclear Security Enterprise and the Commission to Review the Effectiveness of the National Energy Laboratories. The subcommittee commissioned the panel reports.

The hearing will take place at 10:30 a.m. EST in the Rayburn House Office Building, Room 2322.
