New defense contracts awarded among armed services

The U.S. Special Operations Command, Army and Navy recently awarded new service contracts.

Special Operations Command

CACI-Athena in Arlington, Virginia, recently was awarded a $179,859,727 contract to provide joint geospatial analytical support services. The work will be done at undisclosed sites in the U.S. and overseas through Feb. 28, 2021. The U.S. Special Operations Command Contracting Office in Tampa, Florida, is the contracting entity.

Army

In Herndon, Virginia, Northrup Grumman was awarded a $71,070,074 contract to supply hardware and services in support of fielding rockets, artillery and mortar-warn functions for brigade combat teams.  Work will be completed by Feb. 28, 2019, at various sites as needed. The Army Contracting Command of Redstone Arsenal in Alabama is the contracting entity.

In Edgewood, Maryland, Smiths Detection was awarded a $54 million contract to supply components and technical support at Pine Bluff Arsenal in the production of M8E1 chemical and biological shelters. Work will be conducted in locations provided by each order and completed by Dec. 31, 2018. The Army is the contracting entity.

Scitor Corp. in Reston, Virginia, was awarded a $7.4 million modification to a previous contract for human identification research technology assessment services. Work will be completed in the location of each order and finished by Sept. 17, 2017. The Army Contracting Command of Research Triangle Park in North Carolina is the contracting entity. 

Navy

BAE Systems San Diego Ship Repair in San Diego, California, was awarded a $28,243,900 modification to a previous contract to provide maintenance and make any needed modifications to the USS Higgins under selected restricted availability (SRA). Work will be completed in San Diego until November 2016. The contracting entity is the Southwest Regional Maintenance Center in San Diego.

Lockheed Martin Corp. in Archbald, Pennsylvania, was awarded a $25,853,156 supplement to a previous contract for 7,365 Enhanced Laser Guided Training Round (ELGTR) BDU-59B/B units and 2,455 units for production support of government-furnished property metal containers. Work will be completed by December 2018 in Archbald. The contracting entity is the Naval Air Systems Command of Patuxent River, Maryland.

In Salt Lake City, Utah, L-3 Communications, Communication Systems-West, was awarded an $11,402,168 modification to a previous contract for eight AN/SRQ-4 Common Data Link Hawklink systems for the MH-60R and Fire Scout programs. Work will be conducted at several sites in the U.S. and Canada. Work will be completed by September 2018. The Naval Air Systems Command of Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting entity. 

Lockheed Martin Corp. of Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. in Fort Worth, Texas, was awarded a $9,239,696 modification to a previous contract for a Windows 7 upgrade of Joint Strike Fighter test-product stations.  Work will be completed at several sites in the U.S., U.K. and Israel, and will be completed by March 2017.  The Air Force, Marine Corps and Navy will receive these services. The Naval Air Systems Command of Patuxent River, Maryland, is the contracting entity.

In San Diego, California, Trabus Technologies was awarded a $7,419,653 contract for various services in airborne communications and networking, services engineering, technical and programmatic services for communication and networking systems, and associated certification and information assurance for new developments, current operations and planned upgrades. Work will be conducted in San Diego and finished by March 6, 2019. The Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center Pacific in San Diego is the contracting entity.
