The U.S. Army recently launched the Associated Units pilot, in which multiple units of the Army, Army National Guard and Army Reserve to train together before they are deployed.
"Much of America's Army capacity is resides in the Reserve Components, and we must rely more heavily on them to meet the demands of a complex global environment," U.S. Army Chief of Staff Gen. Mark Milley said. "The Associated Units pilot allows us to leverage the capabilities and capacities of the Active Component, Army Reserve and the Army National Guard as one Army."
Multiple units from Georgia will be the first to work within the Associated Units pilot, then they will work together afterward as a combined deployment. Other units from Texas, Hawaii, Washington, New York, North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, Indiana, Vermont, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Missouri will team up this summer as the Associated Units pilot expands.
