Chevron Pipe Line Co. and Wolverine Pipe Line Co. recently won the American Petroleum Institute’s (API) 2015 Distinguished Safety and Environmental Award for larger operators and small operators, respectively, at the 67th annual API pipeline conference, held recently in Carlsbad, California.

API recognized the companies with their highest safety and environmental performance honor due to their consistent records in those areas. Wolverine Pipe Line Company is based in Portage, Michigan, and connects Chicago refineries to terminals in Illinois, Indiana and Michigan with 630 miles of pipeline, transporting more than 350,000 barrels each day.

Chevron Pipe Line Co., based in Bellaire, Texas, operates approximately 4,100 miles of pipeline and transports more than 1.3 million barrels of crude oil, refined petroleum products, liquefied petroleum gas, natural gas and chemicals each day. It is an indirect wholly owned subsidiary of Chevron Corp.

“This award is a testament to Chevron and Wolverine’s extraordinary commitment to exceptional safety and environmental performance,” API Midstream Director Robin Rorick said. “Safety is a core value for the industry. These two companies exemplify excellence in protecting the public and our environment.”
