Latest coalition report details strikes against ISIL in Syria, Iraq

Coalition officials recently released details on the latest Operation Inherent Resolve offensives against the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in Syria and Iraq.

In Syria, coalition forces conducted two strikes, one via drone, near Mar’a, where they hit an ISIL tactical unit and destroyed two of the terrorist group’s fighting positions.

The coalition executed 26 attacks in Iraq through rocket artillery, as well as fighter and bomber aircraft, hitting an ISIL vehicle bomb facility near Al Qaim; tactical units near Kisik and Ramadi; two excavators near Tal Afar; and a fighting position, five heavy machine guns, four mortar systems and an assembly area near Sultan Abdallah. Multiple strikes near Al Badhdadi, Albu Hayat, Bayji, Fallujah, Hit, Kirkuk and Mosul resulted in the destruction of tactical units, mortar systems and positions, bed-down locations, fighting positions, weapons and supply caches, heavy machine guns, vehicles, bunkers, assembly areas, a front-end loader and an anti-air artillery system.
