U.S. and coalition military forces, under Operation Inherent Resolve, have continued their attacks on Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) forces, with five recent strikes in Syria and 19 in Iraq.

In Syria, coalition forces conducted one strike near Dayr Az Zawr, which destroyed six ISIL cranes and two ISIL road graders, and four strikes near Manbij. The latter strikes targeted three ISIL tactical units, 13 fighting positions, two mortar systems, three boats, a vehicle,  and a command-and-control node.

The 19 strikes in Iraq employed both rocket artillery and a range of aircraft – including bomber, ground-attack, attack, fighter and remotely piloted aircraft – on targets near Baghdadi, Huwayjah, Bashir, Fallujah, Habbaniyah, Hit, Kisik, Mosul, and Sultan Abdallah. These strikes suppressed ISIL tactical units and destroyed a range of equipment, including vehicles, tactical vehicles, improvised bombs, foot bridges, machine guns, boats, anti-air artillery pieces, weapons caches, rocket rails and vehicle bombs. Additionally, the strikes destroyed various positions, including fighting positions, mortar positions, assembly areas and headquarters, as well as access to tunnels and terrain. The actions undertaken in Iraq were done with cooperation from the Iraqi government.
