Lockheed Martin subsidiary QTC Medical Services (QTC) recently sponsored the 36th annual National Veterans Wheelchair Games (NVWG), held last month in Salt Lake City,

The Games were open to veterans from all U.S. military services, marking QTC’s 11th consecutive sponsorship of the games.

“We are dedicated to serving our nation’s veterans through the work we do for the VA. Showing support for America’s heroes and NVWG is our way of letting our veterans know how important they are to us,” QTC CEO Grant Kim said. “It’s absolutely inspiring to hear stories on how far these athletes have come despite the challenges they faced along the way.”

The Games allow athletes who use wheelchairs to compete in events such as basketball, quad rugby, power soccer, softball, swimming, weightlifting and bobsledding. In addition to the competition, the Games also allow veterans to improve their physical and mental health.

"Each year, hundreds of veterans with disabilities benefit from their participation in the National Veterans Wheelchair Games," Paralyzed Veterans of America National President Al Kovach, Jr., who competed in the Games, said. "Great partnerships are what make the Games a success, and this includes not only our partnership with the VA, but also with our generous sponsors who have shown tremendous support for this important rehabilitative event for our disabled veterans."
