Lockheed Martin Corp. and the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF) at Syracuse University recently said the two entities have renewed their partnership.

The collaboration was finalized during the Entrepreneurship Bootcamp for Veterans with Disabilities (EBV) at the university this week.

EBV is a small-business management training and entrepreneurship  program offered to post-9/11 veterans with service-related disabilities.

Dr. Mike Haynie, executive director of the IVMF and vice chancellor of veteran and military affairs at Syracuse, announced the agreement.

"We are thrilled to have Lockheed Martin as a continued IVMF corporate partner," Haynie said. "Lockheed Martin is uniquely positioned to provide enduring careers to our nation's veterans, offering technical and field positions to a well-trained cohort with transferable skills."

In addition to the renewed partnership, Lockheed has agreed to donate $1 million over a three-year period to help the IVMF’s veteran entrepreneurship programs and the AmericaServes program, which helps veterans and their families adjust to post-service life.

"Lockheed's past support of our nation's veteran entrepreneurs will quickly scale through new and novel programming and resources, such as the Coalition for Veteran-Owned Businesses and the National Center of Excellence for Veteran Entrepreneurship," Haynie said. "Leveraging the IVMF's national program offerings and acknowledged leadership role in community engagement and connectedness, Lockheed will be afforded the opportunity to quickly seed and cultivate connections in key markets and customer segments."
