Hilary Moffett, formerly director and assistant counsel at the Portland Cement Association, recently joined the American Petroleum Institute (API), where she will serve as the trade association’s director of federal relations.

Moffett holds a bachelor’s degree in international studies from Washington University in St. Louis and earned her law degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. In addition to her previous work with the Portland Cement Association, she served as U.S. Rep. Dan Boren’s (D-OK) legislative director and as majority counsel for the Senate Environment and Public Works Committee.

In her new role, Moffett will manage API’s energy and environmental priorities.

“Moffett has a strong association and legislative background,” API Executive Vice President Louis Finkel said. “Her experience will enhance our industry’s advocacy efforts to ensure that all Americans continue to benefit from our energy renaissance.”
