New York-based Bren-Tronics Inc. recently was awarded a contract
from the U.S. Marine Corps to deliver
Bren-Tronics' Advanced Battery Charger (ABC), the
latest military-grade battery charger that can quickly and efficiently
charge a range of batteries, enhancing field operation energy capabilities.
The one-year contract, funded through the Marine
Corps Systems Command 2016 Acquisition Strategy, has four option years and bears a total value of up to $38 million.

selection by the U.S. Marine Corps reflects on our ability to manufacture the
highest quality and most flexible portable charging solutions,” Bren-Tronics
President and CEO Sai Fung said. “We are truly honored to have been selected by the
USMC and look forward to continuing our partnership with the Corps, providing
innovative products made in the United States."
The ABC is a portable charger that
represents significant gains in terms of size, weight, efficiency, charging
time and environmental survivability. The charger will be compatible with current
and future-format batteries used in tactical platforms like communications,
electronics and robotics. It will also accept a range of power inputs, including
universal AC and wide range DC as well as power from solar panels, fuel cells
and wind turbines.
