Chevron Corp. recently promoted
Rhonda Morris, who has worked with Chevron’s Corporate Human Resources
Development Program since 1991, from president of human resources for Chevron’s
Downstream & Chemicals business to corporate vice president of human resources.
Morris holds a bachelor’s degree from the
University of California and a Master’s in Business Administration from Boston
University. In her time with Chevron, she has worked in a series of
progressively more prominent roles in the company’s human resources, global
marketing and international products business areas. She also serves on the
boards for Techbridge, the East Bay Agency for Children and the Consortium for
Graduate Study in Management. The Professional Businesswomen in California
selected Morris for the recipient of the 2014 Industry Leader Award.
Morris’ new role as corporate vice
president of human resources will see her lead the company’s Human Resources
Diversity and Ombuds group and the Medial and Health Services group. She will
work under Chevron Corporate Vice President of Human Resources and Corporate
Services Joe Laymon, who will lead the Chevron Business and Real Estate
Services and Global Security and Aviation Services until his retirement, which
is slated for the end of 2017.
