At its recent annual corporate meeting, the
American Gas Association elected Pierce Norton II, president and CEO of Oklahoma’s ONE Gas Inc., as the 2017 chair of its board of directors.
Norton holds a bachelor’s degree in
mechanical engineering from the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa, and is a
graduate of Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Program.
In addition
to his role at ONE Gas, which Norton has held since 2014 when the company
separated from ONEOK Inc., he is also on the board of the Tulsa Community
College Foundation, the Tulsa Regional chamber of Commerce, the Oklahoma Center
for Community and Justice and the Tulsa Community Foundation.
“Pierce is an inspiring and thoughtful
leader with a breadth of experience that will help position the industry well
as we look to America’s energy future and the opportunities that exist,” AGA President and CEO Dave McCurdy said. “He is well respected by colleagues and
employees alike and will no doubt be a positive force in his role as chair. I
look forward to working with him in 2017.”
The AGA Annual Corporate Meeting, which
took place in San Diego, California, also saw the election of several other
officers for the organization's board.
