Lockheed Martin recently celebrated the
accomplishments of two of its executives and two executives from Sandia
National Laboratories who won awards at the annual Hispanic Engineer National
Achievement Awards Conference (HENAAC) in California.
“Diversity and inclusion are essential to
fostering innovation at Lockheed Martin and we believe in creating an
environment in which everyone has a chance to excel,” Lockheed Martin
Chairman, President and CEO Marillyn Hewson said. “STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics) education is what builds
the company’s diverse pipeline of talented scientists, engineers and
professionals. So we congratulate each recipient for their commitment to
encouraging STEM learning and serving as role models.”
From Lockheed Martin, Veronica Hernandez
won the Most Promising Engineer Award for her work on value performance and
metrics and involvement in her local community, including volunteering with
Habitat for Humanity, animal and women’s shelters and retirement homes. John
Martinez won the Luminary Award based on his leadership in Lockheed Martin’s
Rotary and Mission Systems division, as well has his efforts as a foster parent
and service on corporate and business area councils.
Sandia National Laboratories’ Bernadette Hernandez-Sanchez and Vincent Urias won Outstanding Technical
Achievement and Luminary Awards, respectively.
