As the new year gets underway, the U.S. Chamber of Commerce is hoping the country's leaders and businesses
will be part of a new agenda to help produce economic growth
and resurgence in America.
The chamber, in a posting on its website, recently introduced its Growth Agenda that seeks
to provide millions of unemployed citizens with jobs, offer secure programs
for all and grow businesses in a united way.
“Today we remain mired in the slowest economic
recovery since the 1940s, with annual growth rates hovering around 1 percent to 2 percent,”
Sean Hackbarth said in the posting. Hackbarth also noted that our previous policymakers have not made the
unerring choice of allowing prosperous growth in our country, and that they
have chosen to follow their own personal agendas and plans.
"Choose growth. Judge each proposal on the basis of whether it will speed or impede the
expansion of our economy,” the article said.
“We are focusing on growth because
it’s good for everyone,” Hackbarth said.
The chamber is
hoping to deliver the American Dream to many people in our country
and offer a “stronger, faster, and more broadly shared economic growth for
all,” all while driving positive growth, the article said.
