President Donald Trump, Army Gen.
Joseph Votel and Army Gen. Raymond Thomas met last week at MacDill Air
Force Base in Florida to discuss the current and future responsibilities of
Central Command and Special Operations Command.
During their meeting, Trump made clear to the two leaders how proud and thankful he is for
the men and women working hard everyday at the base for the American people.
“I want every military
family in this country to know that our administration is at your service. We
will protect those who protect us, and we will never, ever let you down.” Trump
said.
In addition, Trump
promised the base he would provide new tools and equipment for the military in
response to their continued hard work and dedication.
“We are going to
be making a really historic investment in the armed forces of the United States
and show the entire world that America stands with those who stand in defense
of freedom,” Trump said. “We are up against an enemy that
celebrates death, and totally worships destruction. America and its allies will
defeat you. We will not allow it to take root in our country.”
