General Dynamics Information Technology has been awarded the contract for the U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) wide mission support efforts.
As part of its contract, the company will develop a variety of support services that will assist special operations forces while they operate in global activities. This will include engineering and technical services for major weapon systems, program technical assistance, support systems requirements or even to assist with production decision-making and program controls.
“General Dynamics Information Technology will continue providing responsive, highly knowledgeable and professional support to meet the needs of the USSOCOM warfighter,” said Bernie Guerry, senior vice president of General Dynamics Information Technology’s Intelligence Solutions division.
The work will be performed by a subsidiary of General Dynamics, ARMA Global, which was designed specifically to support complex special operations force projects within the larger company.
The special operations contract could pay up to $900 million over the next five years.
General Dynamics calls itself a “worldwide powerhouse” that offers products and services in shipbuilding, aerospace, combat vehicles, weapons systems and information technology. The company has been awarded several contracts with the Department of Defense, including one to manage enterprise communications, as well as four contracts in the field of cybersecurity services by the General Services Administration.
