Energy professional Michael Paules, who has a background in geology, environment and health regulation, has been named the new associate director of the Colorado Petroleum Council, the American Petroleum Institute's Colorado division, Tracee Bentley, the council's executive director, said in a recent API release.
“Paules is a well-known, reputable leader in the oil and natural gas industry,” Bentley said in the release. “Paules’ experience is critical for Colorado at a key moment for local and state energy policy discussions.”
Paules, who previously worked in a variety of petroleum industry sectors, expressed enthusiasm about the appointment.
“I am excited to join the leading industry voice committed to regulatory structures that promote safety, environmental protection, and responsible operations,” Paules said in the release. “Investing in Colorado energy means a long-term commitment to consumers, job creation and government revenue in the Centennial State.”
Paules said API has developed industry standards to promote safety and reliability for nearly a century, and its leadership in national compliance standards and conformance to standard engineering practices and ANSI accreditation.
