EYE Lighting enhances Ohio garden at United Way event

EYE Lighting International staffers in Lake County, Ohio, recently volunteered at a United Way cleanup event for the sixth year by weeding and mulching for a behavioral health center’s tranquility garden.

EYE Lighting International of North America Inc. is headquartered in the city of Mentor, and its employees participate in giving back to the community year-round. The recent gardening project benefited the Crossroads organization as part of the United Way of Lake County 25th annual Day of Caring, according to a press release.

"At the end of the day, our employees are tired and proud to have given back to the community,” Maureen Lundi and Kate Vezdos, EYE Lighting volunteer coordinators, said in the release.

In the past three years, team members donated over 100 pounds of food for local pantries and attended numerous fundraising events.

“A couple years ago, our team of volunteers was enlightened after working at a safe house,” Lundi and Vezdos said. “We were able to make that place feel more like a home – giving the children a welcoming place to play and helping families feel proud to live there.”
