Gillespie to be keynote speaker at Defending the American Dream Summit

Ed Gillespie, former Republican National Committee chairman and lobbyist, will serve as keynote speaker at the 11th annual Defending the American Dream Summit in Richmond, Virginia.

The event is scheduled for Aug. 19 at the Richmond Marriott.

This yearly conference assembles activists, elected leaders and other stakeholders with the common goal of enhancing economic opportunities, according to an announcement. Gillespie will publicize a plan for steering the state of Virginia towards pro-growth tax restructuring, stating that he is a longtime advocate for promoting a healthy economy, according to Americans for Prosperity (AFP).

“Ed Gillespie has long been a champion for policies that promote economic prosperity and improve people’s lives,” AFP President Tim Phillips said. “I’m excited for our activists to learn more about his approach to advancing free market principles in Virginia and how he plans to keep the American Dream alive and well for this generation and many more to come.”

Gillespie will join FCC Chairman Ajit Pai, Virginia’s House Speaker Designee Kirk Cox and other industry leaders in presenting at the event supporting free-market benefits and independence, the announcement said.
