Elbit Systems wins $11 million contract with overseas navy

Elbit Systems Ltd. of Haifa, Israel, recently won a contract worth $11 million with an unspecified Asia-Pacific navy to provide logistics and equipment for training, simulation and routine and special operations.

"As a leading C4ISR company, we were able to provide the customer with a complete situational awareness and networked real-time solution, integrating radar, electro-optic systems, radio and communications systems,” Yehuda (Udi) Vered, Elbit Systems Land & C4I general manager, said in an announcement.

The agreement calls for manufacturing and delivery of an integrated maritime C4ISR system over two years, including sensor towers, command centers, maritime C41 capabilities and routine maintenance support.

“We witness a growing demand from coastal agencies and navies that are required to secure ports, dams, harbors and waterways while encountering terrorism, illegal immigration, enemy operations and a high volume of vessels and passengers traveling at sea," Vered said.

Elbit supports defense and homeland security initiatives as well as commercial entities worldwide in an array of systems for communications, intelligence, electro-optics and more, the announcement said. Additionally, it develops new technologies, provides enhancements for existing platforms and offers support services such as training and simulation exercise systems.
