Advocates and associations will join businesses and nonprofits to illuminate clean energy’s benefits during National Clean Energy Week, Sept. 25-29, with the American Gas Association (AGA) at the forefront, serving on the event’s steering committee.
“Natural gas is an essential part of our clean energy future as our nation’s abundant resources provide energy for homes and businesses, fuel our vehicles, generate power and support other forms of renewable energy,” AGA President and CEO Dave McCurdy said in a release. “The United States has achieved the lowest annual carbon dioxide emissions in decades while witnessing simultaneous growth in natural gas and renewables.”
National Clean Energy Week serves to highlight practical solutions for the nation’s increasing reliance on sustainable energy. Alongside AGA, a dozen industry groups plan to partake in discussions geared toward market advancement, policy change and technological progress.
“National Clean Energy Week is a great opportunity to showcase the benefits of natural gas and how the energy industry is working together to improve the lives of our customers and protect our environment,” McCurdy said in the release.
