The American Enterprise Institute's (AEI) Foreign and Defense Policy team is welcoming new members from the inaugural class of Jeane Kirkpatrick fellows and visiting scholars.
The new members are Jessica Trisko Darden, Colin Dueck, Clay R. Fuller and Oriana Mastro, AEI announced.
The Jeane Kirkpatrick Fellows and Visiting Scholars Program trains and mentors future leaders of America. The year-long program was named after Jeane Kirkpatrick, the late AEI senior fellow and US ambassador to the United Nations under former President Ronald Reagan.
“We are delighted to have such talented individuals join our foreign and defense policy team," Danielle Pletka, AEI senior vice president of foreign and defense policy studies, said the announcement. "The important research of Kirkpatrick visiting scholars and fellows will help us better understand current challenges and work toward better policies to meet them. We are also delighted that AEI scholars are eager to foster a new generation of foreign and defense policy experts.”
The program gives those studying government, foreign policy and security the opportunity to apply what they have learned to real-life situations. The scholars can host events, engage in research, brief policymakers and more.
The program's goal is to "mentor talented foreign and defense policy scholars by offering doctoral, postdoctoral students, and junior faculty the opportunity to work alongside senior AEI resident scholars and develop and disseminate their own research over a two-year term," according to AEI.
