American Gas Association applauds naming of new Natural Gas Vehicles of America president

The head of the American Gas Association (AGA) recently applauded the appointment of Dan Gage as president of Natural Gas Vehicles of America (NGVAmerica).

“Dan’s experience and passion for clean transportation will be a valuable asset to NGVAmerica and its members,” AGA President and CEO Dave McCurdy said in an AGA release. “NGVAmerica has been a catalyst for the progress we have seen in natural gas transportation in recent years with their education and advocacy efforts broadening the adoption of NGVs and opening up new markets where alternative transportation options can make a substantial impact on budgets and our environment.”

NGVAmerica has teamed up the AGA to grow the availability of clean and affordable natural gas vehicles in the U.S., the release said.

Gage is a veteran in government and community relations and public affairs, having worked in those fields for over 20 years. Gage previously was the senior director of communications and public affairs at Alliance of Automobile Manufacturers a position he held since 2011.

“The case for natural gas transportation has never been stronger with an abundance of this foundation fuel keeping the price affordable and an expanding pipeline network making the fuel available in more places throughout our nation," McCurdy said in the release. "I look forward to working with Dan to continue to tell the story about the role of natural gas in improving the lives of our customers and moving our nation forward.”
