Constellium commits to long-term jet project with Pilatus

Constellium N.V., a European aluminum product provider, has extended a contract with Swiss aircraft manufacturer Pilatus Aircraft Ltd for a new executive jet initiative for which Constellium will augment Pilatus’ inventory of aerospace plates.

From its plant based in Issoire, France, Constellium plans to deliver over 80 PC-24 super-versatile jets, according to a press release.

“This contract further strengthens our longstanding relationship with Pilatus,” Ingrid Joerg, president of Constellium’s Aerospace and Transportation business unit, said in the release. “It also demonstrates Constellium’s expertise in providing leading solutions for the aerospace market, thanks to a constant focus on research and innovation, in close partnership with our clients.”

Based in the Netherlands, Constellium manufactures components for the aerospace, automotive and packaging industries. Its products include specialty plates, sheets, extrusions and precision castings. Constellium has clients in industries such as military and commercial aircraft and space.

Constellium’s Airware allows aircraft and spacecraft to achieve logistical goals such as weight decrease, longer periods between maintenance and overall sustainability.

Pilatus Aircraft operates in Australia and Colorado in addition to Switzerland. Its plant in Stans, Switzerland, was used as a location for shooting scenes in the James Bond film “Goldfinger.”
