Triumph signs two-year contract for Air Force aircraft rotary actuators

Pennsylvania-based aviation contractor Triumph Geared Solutions has signed on with the U.S. Air Force as an exclusive provider of mission-critical C-5 Galaxy aircraft equipment at a Georgia air force base.

The two-year agreement stipulates that Triumph Geared Solutions will deliver spare rotary actuators for landing apparatus on USAF C-5 Galaxy units, according to an announcement. The $22.9 million contract ensures that Triumph will provide the parts to DLA Aviation at Robins Air Force Base; the spare rotary actuators will be manufactured at the company’s Park City, Utah, facility.

“We are honored to be selected as a sole source supplier for these operation-critical parts on the C-5 Galaxy aircraft, the U.S. Air Force’s largest and only strategic airlifter and to support the service men and women who depend on the aircraft to transport them anywhere in the world on short notice," Tom Holzthum, Triumph Integrated Systems executive vice president, said.

Functioning as an arm of Triumph Integrated Systems, with headquarters in Berwyn, Pennsylvania, Triumph Geared Solutions excels in the creation and distribution of gearbox kits, transmissions, precision gear equipment and related supplies for both commercial and military clients, including regional airline and cargo carriers.
