Hotel management firm First Hospitality Group and Chicago’s vibrant Navy Pier neighborhood recently announced their collaborative debut of Navy Pier Hotel — planned for Summer 2019 and to be operated by the Curio Collection by Hilton.

Slated for construction adjoining the pier’s existing Festival Hall, the structure will offer 222 rooms, panoramic views of Chicago and Lake Michigan, and upscale amenities including a rooftop restaurant and bar.

"We are excited to be working with First Hospitality Group on this highly-anticipated development project," Bill Fortier, Hilton’s senior vice president for development, Americas, said. "The Navy Pier Hotel will be located in a unique and even iconic part of the city and we look forward to its opening. It's truly going to be a special hotel for the Curio Collection by Hilton brand."

The Navy Pier offers arts and culture venues, retail and restaurant life, public spaces and other facilities designed to facilitate community connections. Navy Pier President and CEO Marilynn Gardner called the development a breakthrough for Chicago.

"The development of this hotel on the lake — the first of its kind in Chicago — serves as a monumental milestone in realizing Navy Pier's Centennial Vision, the framework that has guided us into the Pier's second century," Gardner said.

Construction is anticipated to start in January.
