The COVID-19 pandemic has impacted most facets of the health industry, particularly pharmaceuticals. There is a sense of urgency for increased production of a number of products and that also requires packaging.

That's where the Jones Healthcare Group is making a significant impact.

Packaging needs have intensified in the industry from simple cold medications to coronavirus testing kits. The ability to put a product in the market quickly while showing the flexibility to meet specifications has given the Jones group an advantage.

Nic Hunt, chief strategy officer, said the group is leading the way in developing “Intelligent” kit options outfitted with technology. That technology provides the ability of consumers to confirm the kit is authentic and provides easy access to tutorial videos. All that is needed is to tap a smartphone on the packaging Contract Pharma reported.

In addition, with the demand for coronavirus testing kits, Jones Healthcare Group has displayed the ability to design and prototype packaging that allows a number of companies to get their products to market quickly, Hunt told Contract Pharma.

The Jones Healthcare Group realizes the ability to provide packaging quickly is crucial. In an effort to continue and accommodate its customers, it invested in a new, highly flexible "blister line" with serialization capabilities as well as a new folding carton press, Contract Pharma reported. The group plans on sharing more information on investments for 2021 at a future date, the story said.
